Marygrove Facility & Grounds

Marygrove is a Catholic Retreat Center, owned and operated by the Catholic Diocese of Marquette. It is the mission of Marygrove to offer a quiet place to stand away from the distractions of our busy lives. It is a place to rest, to pray, and to gain a clear perspective. Above all, Marygrove is a place to deepen your awareness of God’s presence and action in your life.

Marygrove is located on 40 acres of wooded land on the picturesque Garden Bay. A pleasant Gazebo is located next to the reflective labyrinth garden. The nearby shrine to the Sacred Heart of Jesus towers against the majestic cedars. The Gazebo is a wonderful place to relax, read, pray or journal on a warm afternoon.

The Grotto of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is nestled in the whispering pines and fragrant cedars, preciously describes the reason for our name: “Mary’s Grove.” In addition to the Grotto, there are several other shrines and quiet places to rest and pray. A quiet fenced garden dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi is located in the back of the conference room. Several paths lead gently through the woods offering peace and security to all who travel them.

The tall pines and cedars create a canopy for Marygrove’s Stations of the Cross Pathway. Recently restored, this path takes on the appearance of nature’s Cathedral. In the center of it all, a quiet, restful spot with a shrine to St. Jude.

Marygrove has a comfortable Conference Room that can accommodate both theatre-style seating or tables. Adjacent to the Chapel, the Conference Room is also equipped with a large screen television, sound system, and computer projection system.
