Fr. Jamie - Director of Marygrove

Dear Friends,

During the past several months, I have been struck with how many times someone has said to me, “I’m so glad we have Marygrove.”

Some of them I know have lost their jobs and their family income is tight. They’re cutting back on what they’re used to, and trying to figure out how to pay the bills. And so they come to Marygrove to feel the presence of our saving God who so often seems hidden from us.

Some who have said they’re glad to have Marygrove, say this because they’re so busy. They are exhausted by the continuous pressures of job and family life, trying to work more hours during difficult economic times, while simultaneously running to junior high volley ball games and dance practices without end. And so they come to Marygrove to take a break, to heal and find some peace.

Some have shared their gratefulness for Marygrove simply because they have learned so much on their retreat. Perhaps it was “The Wise Women’s” weekend, or the Parish Retreat on the Eucharist. They are grateful we have a place to learn about God, and deepen their faith.

Whether a person comes to Marygrove to find the reassurance of God’s presence, a respite from their busy lives, or just to learn about their faith; they seem to know that Marygrove is for all of us. I hope you feel that Marygrove is for you! Make a retreat this year because Marygrove is here for you – a place to rest, to heal, to learn and to discover God’s presence.

May God bless you this Christmas and New Year. And may you find your way to Marygrove soon.
